The "New" course at Grand Cypress Resort was designed by Jack Nicklaus to be a tribute to the "Old Course" in St. Andrews, Scotland. Not many trees, lots of "burn"-style water hazards and generous use of stone bridges and walls make it a reasonable facsimile of the original "links" style of layout - even if it is a long way from the nearest sea.
