While they're part of the Kohler golf experience, the courses at Whistling Straits are actually a few miles north of Sheboygan - directly on the shores of Lake Michigan. There are two spectacular 18-hole routes at Whistling Straits, the Straits course and the Irish course. The Straits course gets the more visually exciting location on the water while the Irish course winds its way through the wetlands and forested areas adjacent on the west.
The Straits course hosted the 2004 PGA Championship and the 2007 U.S. Open - with the PGA scheduled to return in 2010 and 2015 and the Ryder Cup comes to town in 2020.
