Silver Lakes Golf Course

Course Details

Silver Lakes Golf Club, located about midway between Gadsden and Anniston (near the town of Glencoe), is one of the more remote pieces of Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. But if you're up for a real challenge, the 27 holes at Silver Lakes are worth the trip. Take the names of the 3 nines (Heartbreaker, Backbreaker, Mindbreaker) seriously, this isn't easy golf. The Appalachian foothills (yes, Alabama is far from flat in the northern half of the state) make this very memorable golf and a real bargain. Silver Lakes also includes a 9-hole short course.

The courses at Silver Lakes were seriously damaged by a tornado in April 2011, but reopened later that year. The storm took out a significant number of trees so the course has a different look, but it's still an excellent test of golf.
