The Prairie Club

You're not going to stumble upon The Prairie Club. You're really going to have to want to find this great group of courses in north central Nebraska. But the consensus is that it's well worth the hassle of getting to this out-of-the-way spot on the rim of the Snake River Canyon.

The Dunes Course, designed by Tom Lehman and Chris Brands, is 18 holes of wide open, tree-less, links-style golf on the prairie. Graham Marsh designed the 18 holes of the Pines Course, which winds its way through the pine trees near the river. The Horse Course is a 10-hole par 3 course that takes advantage of elevation changes near the canyon rim. The Horse was designed by Gil Hanse for a golf version of basketball's "HORSE" game. There are no tees. The winner of the previous hole gets to decide where play starts - fairway or green, it's up to you.

The Prairie Club is located about 17 miles southwest of Valentine, Nebraska. Keep an eye out for the dirt access road off of Highway 97. We told you this wasn't going to be easy.
