Course Details
Sand Valley is a project of the Keiser family, who also developed Bandon Dunes in Oregon. Located near the center of Wisconsin, the resort offers some very "links-y" golf thanks to the ancient sand dunes found in this part of the state. Tom Doak, Ben Crenshaw, Bill Coore and David McLay Kidd were hired to design the courses at Sand Valley. The closest town of any size is Wisconsin Rapids, about 15 miles north of the resort. Allowing for the remote location, on-site accommodations include a lodge, cabins, cottages and "estate homes". Sand Valley is a 160 mile drive from Milwaukee, 210 miles from Minneapolis and about 250 miles from Chicago.
